Melting Pot Series
Inspired by the intersection of food and life.
It’s about taking a lighthearted approach to the injustice and pain I feel when I see how some people treat those who are different than themselves.
My love of food and curiosity in visual language lead me to a study of color, texture, and forms inspired by food—Mix them up as if they are different people. Arranging materials, colors, forms, and compositions to invoke contrast and harmony. The idea of duality where love and hate coexists.
Flow Series
The fluidity of watered down paint and the texture of pastels, reminiscent of my time at the beach. Building water dams and tiny castles. It's a spiritual practice traveling down to memory lane with my mom, dad, and sister. Water and sand, the most basic form that keeps me in the flow.
Hope Series
Inspired by my family and friends touched by cancers. This series is my interpretation of our vulnerability, strength, and resilience. A celebration of life full of hope, an expression of fear turned into courage and love.
